One of the greatest books to read that explains this point real well is the Four Hour Work Week. You may have the ability to do something, but if you can't do it efficiently why not let somebody else do it while you spend time on something that is more worth it to you. For example, say there is a carpenter and an electrician who both make $35/hr and it takes them an hour to do their jobs in their profession. The plumber knows how to do carpentry but it takes him two hours to perform a similar service compared to the carpenter. Technically it would be wiser for the plumber to work two hours in his profession while he hires the carpenter to do one hour of labor.
This is a very basic example, but can be applied on many different fronts.

Amy, there are only so many hours in a day and only so many tasks you can accomplish. You've defined what's important to you and found a way to get it done. You go girl!

I work at home, which is great because I get to be with our two young children. But I was getting worn out from being a full-time mom while working in my business. So I talked to my husband, and we decided to hire a cleaning lady. At first, I felt guilty and I got some strange looks from my friends when I told them about it. But I love it ... I get to spend my time doing what I'm best at ... raising my kids and working my business.
