Extreme leadership is the name Steve has given his body of work. He states that all real leadership is an extreme act because it’s about transformation. It’s the opposite of a poser.
We asked Steve what to do about a leader who isn’t leading. He said that leadership isn’t a function of position or title. You have to lead even if your leader isn’t. Ask yourself: What can I do to change things for the better no matter what they do?
If you’re like us, you’ve heard it over and over – don’t get emotional about business. We found it intriguing that Steve uses the word “love” without hesitation. And he’s talking about business!
He says that love is at the foundation of leadership. After all, you you’re your customers to love you. How can you expect them to love doing business with you if you don’t love the business yourself first?
Effective leadership combines the emotional and the rational. The intellect understands but the heart commits. You’ll experience tremendous results when you get both firing at once.
