Day after day. Week after week. You push and push and push.
When will you reach BIGG success?

You try and try and try. Again and again and again.
When will you be a BIGG success?

You learn and learn and learn.
When will you finally reach BIGG success?

You do everything every expert tells you to do.
When will it happen for you?
When will you be able to live the life of your dreams?

Screw that, when will you be able to live like a normal person?
When will you have weekends to yourself?
When can you get at least part of your evenings back?

Success seems so close

At times, success seems so close. You know it is.
But you don’t really KNOW it is. You HOPE it is.

You hope, beyond all hope, that – the next time you pull yourself up, the next time you try again – the next time will bring BIGG success.

So you dust yourself off. You work up the courage. You go for it.

And still you come up short.

Discouragement. That doesn’t even begin to describe it.
You are dejected. You want to crawl into a cave and cry.
You’re so tired. Sleep. Maybe you just need some sleep.

So you struggle to get to sleep. You’re scared. But you finally drift off.

The next day you wake up. You’re still discouraged, but at least that overwhelming feeling that your world was collapsing around you has passed.

You know you have to act. Action crushes worry. So you do act.

Maybe today will be different.
But it isn’t.

So you try again tomorrow.
With the same result.
When will you be a BIGG success?

When doubt enters

You see others succeed. It seems like it came easy.
How did they do it? What do they have that you don’t have?

Maybe you’re just not lucky.
Maybe you were never destined to succeed. Maybe the status quo is your lot in life. Maybe God has conspired against you, instead of for you.

Belief has turned to doubt. You doubt yourself. You doubt everything.

You never knew it would be this hard. If you did, you wouldn’t have tried. But here you are.

You never know

So you keep plugging away. You keep going. You keep adapting.

Because you never know when you will be a BIGG success until you are a BIGG success.

You just know you will. At some point in time.

As long as you don’t quit. History has shown us that people often quit just before success. They finally run out of fuel. They just can’t do it anymore.

A perfect process

This is a game of belief and endurance.

As long as you can maintain the belief you can succeed, you’re still in the game.

If you persevere, you will reach BIGG success. You just don’t know when.

So you must keep pushing. And once you hit BIGG success, you’ll realize how perfect the process is.

Each step of the way, you learned something that ultimately led you to BIGG success.

You’ll recognize that, each step of the way, you became stronger. Your strength enabled you to conquer obstacles that keep most people from ever reaching BIGG success.

You’ll see that the joy is ever bit as much in the journey, complete with all its struggles, as it is in reaching BIGG success.

An Inevitable Part of Your Journey to Success

the long road to achieving a goal | BIGG SuccessYou’re probably familiar with the term “false start.” According to Merriam-Webster, it means an unsuccessful attempt to start something.

As bad as false starts are, false ends are worse. We consulted with Merriam-Webster for a definition of false end. There was nothing there.

But unfortunately, we know they’re real!

Listen to The BIGG Success Show #731

We started thinking about this after watching an episode of Discovery’s Two Weeks in Hell. In case you’re not familiar, it’s about the intensive two-week training cadets go through to try to qualify for the Green Berets, the U.S. Army’s most elite group of soldiers.

On the show we watched, the cadets thought they were done. They had completed their two weeks of training.

But then they were required to perform one more grueling task.

It’s a technique the officers use to see which cadets have the mental stamina required to be an elite fighter. BIGG success uses the same trick.

False ends are brutal

Picture this – your BIGG goal is within reach. So you summon your last ounce of energy to do one more daunting task.

You just know that this is what it will take to achieve your BIGG goal.

You push yourself – more than you ever have before. You complete the task.

But you’re still short of your goal. It was a false end.

What a letdown!

Exhaustion overtakes you.

Discouragement overwhelms you.

You feel like crying, or withdrawing, or escaping. But you know what you do?

Press on!

Persevere.

Keep going.

Don’t give up.

Quitters never win and winners never quit.

So you do.

Somehow you find strength that you didn’t know you had. You give it another shot.

And…you come up short again.

Now you’re beyond discouragement.

You don’t want to cry; you’re ready to bawl your eyes out.

Escape? You want to RUN away.

But you don’t.

You try again. You know you have to do it. You have to stay motivated.

So how do you do that?

The key to getting past a false end

Get a buddy, a mentor, and/or a coach (maybe we could help).

Team up with someone who is trying to accomplish the same thing you are. Invest time supporting each other.

Or find someone who has already done what you’re trying to do. It may be a close friend who is willing to mentor you. Or you may pay a coach.

You may want to have all three. The more the merrier!

But the key is to always have someone you can turn to when you need encouragement.

False ends are an inevitable part of your journey to life on your own terms. Look for those few very important people who can help you persevere to reach BIGG success!

How do you deal with a false end?
