Our Founding Fathers secured freedom from an oppressive king. We pull lessons from them to show you how to gain financial freedom in three steps. Brought to you by

We celebrate Independence Day this week in the U.S. So, on The BIGG Success Show, we share some lessons we’ve learned, about financial freedom, from our Founding Fathers and the patriots who fought for our freedom from an oppressive king. Here’s a summary of that discussion.

Our ancestors who formed the thirteen colonies were truly amazing. They took a great deal of risk to sail to a completely new, unknown, land. In spite of that, they still felt the strong arm of a tyrannical king. So, they took it upon themselves to change their situation for the better, to take control of their own lives.

Do you ever feel that way? That outside forces play an outsized role in your life, and not in a good way? Like the patriots that preceded us, you need to say, “Enough!” You need to take control – realizing you can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can control your response to everything that happens to you.

With that background, let’s look at how to gain financial freedom, three steps learned from our Founding Fathers.

1) Declare your independence

Decide. This is the first step. You have to say, “Enough!”

Are you fed up with being fed up?

When you must say “No” to the status quo, you’re ready to go!

2) Go to war

More specifically, a revolutionary war. We found a definition of “revolution” we really liked:

A forcible uprising

You have to “force” yourself to take the right actions. But if you do, there will be an uprising. Just realize:

Nothing about this is comfortable. You’re pushing yourself beyond your limits. You’re breaking free of everything that’s been holding you back. You’re doing things you didn’t do. You’re not doing things you did do.

But to do anything else is too painful. So you press on. You stretch yourself. You step into unfamiliar turf. You grow. Your limits expand.

You wanted to find yourself in a new situation, a new way of life. And you’re almost there. Just one more step.

3) Fight!

Can you imagine declaring your independence and going to war without fighting?

Day after day, battle after battle, you win the war.

Of course, there will be days when you lose. You’ll be exhausted – mentally, emotionally, and even physically. You’ll feel down. Lick your wounds, heal up, and then get out and fight again.

You may lose again. But eventually, you will win. You will gain financial freedom.

Freedom isn’t free. But it’s a lot less costly than staying stuck, getting trapped, or feeling held captive.

BIGG Takeaway

Financial freedom starts with a decision to stop the pain,
so you can start to gain the life you really want.
