Occasionally, it’s good for your mental health to take a pause from the busyness and take time to consider the things you love about your business.

On The BIGG Success Show, we talk about reminding yourself about the things to love about your business. Here’s a summary of that discussion…

Do you take your business for granted? It’s easy to do. You get so busy running the business day-to-day. You don’t slow down long enough to be grateful for what your business is and does. The two of us are guilty of this at times.

Worse yet, all of us are told all the time that we should be passionate about our business all the time. The problem is: That’s such a broad, sweeping statement that it really doesn’t mean anything.

So we thought we’d get more specific. Let’s zone in on five things to love about your business:

1) Love what you do

Love your role in your business. You’re the leader. Your people follow your lead. If you don’t love your position, how can you expect anyone else from loving theirs?

And if that’s the case – how will you attract and retain the kind of people you need to grow your business?

2) Love what your business does

Your business serves the wants and needs of people. It makes a difference in their lives. If it doesn’t, it won’t last very long.

It’s amazing the effect that even the smallest of small businesses can have on the lives of others. Think about who your business impacts:

– every customer
– every employee
– your banker
– your investors
– your vendor’s sales representative
– your vendor’s production department
– your vendor
– and on and on and on…

3) Love what your business stands for

You have a set of core values, whether you have articulated them or not. They clearly state how you treat people in your business. They represent your highest ideals.

If you haven’t put them in writing, consider doing so soon. For now, celebrate the ways your business brings your principles to life.

4) Love what you’ve accomplished

Think about where you started and where you are now. Look at all the things that you’ve learned along the way. Think about all the people you’ve helped. Remind yourself of how you’ve given back to your community.

5) Love your vision of the future

You’re just getting started, right? What’s your vision of the future? Have you shared it with your people? If you haven’t, you should. Keep your vision in front of them (and yourself) constantly to make it happen. That’s BIGG success!
