Success in a Can

can_of_success Today we want to talk about a miracle solution that we just discovered. You can use this magical elixir for any problem you may have.

If we were to create an infomercial for this wonderful product, we’d want Billy Mays, the spokesperson of all spokespersons, to be our pitchman. We can hear him now …

Billy Mays here with a product that I’m excited to tell you about. Success in a Can. If
you have problems staring you in the face; it will make them disappear without a trace.

For a demonstration, he could offer real-life example after real-life example.

So are you interested in knowing where you can buy this incredible product?

Well, it’s not sold in stores as the saying goes. You won’t find it online either. You see, it’s very exclusive. We can hear you now … you really want this product, don’t you? But there’s something you should know …

No one can get it for you. No one can give it to you. You have to get it yourself. But people who have used this product say that it is priceless.

So, we can hear you asking again … only more impatiently now … where can you find Success in a Can and how much it will cost?

Here’s the secret – you have to mix this magical solution yourself. The good news is that you already have all the ingredients.

Ingredient #1 – Self-awareness

Do you believe in yourself? We mean really truly believe deep down. Listen carefully to your talk – both your conversations with others and those internal chats you have with yourself.

How often “can” you? How many times “can’t” you?

Can’t is a limiting word. If you think you can’t, you’re right. And that’s just wrong!

Now we don’t think you should eliminate the word “can’t”, but you should be aware of it. You should limit its use to situations that don’t limit you. Because it reinforces what you truly believe.

Ingredient #2 – Self-assessment

Think about your strengths and your weaknesses. You may think that’s odd – why would you think about your weaknesses if you’re trying to limit the use of the word “can’t”?

That’s a good question. Let’s see if we can come up with a good answer …

It’s important to be realistic. Because Success in a Can doesn’t mean playing to your weaknesses. It means knowing what you’re best at. It also means working with other people doing what they’re best at because you know they can! There, how did we do?

Ingredient #3 – Focus

Focus on what you can do, not what you can’t do. Whenever you hear yourself saying that you “can’t” do something, quickly start thinking about what you “can” do about the situation. By focusing your thoughts on what you can do, you’ll feel more energy to work on the issue at hand.

Ingredient #4 – Reinforcement

When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself you can do it. When you face a difficult challenge, tell yourself you can find a way. When you see an opportunity, remind yourself that you can make it happen.

If you don’t believe in yourself, nobody will. Success in a Can does come with a price … you have to change the way you think. But if you do, you’ll pop the top for bigg success.

The Greatest Miracle In The World

Today’s blog is inspired by one of our favorite authors, Og Mandino. He was an amazing storyteller. We reviewed his book, The Greatest Miracle In The World,  in our last newsletter.

So what is the greatest miracle in the world? You might be surprised to hear this …

It’s YOU!

Yes, you are the greatest miracle in the world! Maybe you don’t think of yourself as a miracle. Maybe you take yourself for granted.

So let’s look at the evidence. Here’s why you are the greatest miracle in the world:

You have a distinctive genetic code. Your physical make-up is unique to you. Look at your DNA. We learn from crime investigations that it’s uniquely yours. The odds are overwhelmingly against any other human sharing the same DNA.

Your experiences are entirely your own. From your childhood up to the present time, no one else has the exact same set of experiences that you have. Others may have similar experiences, but no one has experienced them in the same way that you have.

Your perceptions are unlike anyone else’s. Based partly on your genetic make-up and on your own experiences, you have a unique perspective on the world. You have a distinct point-of-view. You see things in a slightly different way than anyone else because of how you got to where you are.

Your genes, your experiences, your perceptions. All these ingredients combine to form the single rarest thing on the face of the earth – YOU! In the history of the world, there has never been anyone who is just like you. From now until the end of time, there will never be a single person just like you.

Do you see yourself as the miracle that you are? Let’s see …

Do you value yourself in pennies?
Don’t you know that all of the riches in the world don’t come close to your value?

Do you believe others when they put you down?
Don’t you know that their comments are a reflection of themselves and not you?

Do you tell yourself that you’re not smart enough?
Don’t you know that you have your own unique blend of intelligence?

Do you diminish your talents?
Don’t you realize that you’ve been given unique gifts to share with the world?

Do you think you’re not good enough?
Don’t you know that you’re exactly what the world needs?

Don’t you know that’s why you’re here now? The odds were against, even before you were conceived. But you endured. Because there was a reason … a purpose … a gift only you could give the world.

You are capable of great accomplishments. You have unlimited potential. Only you can do what you’re here to do because you are the greatest miracle in the world.

You need to see yourself for who you are. You need to change how you think about yourself. If you do, you’ll change your world. Then, and only then, can you do what you’re here to do. To change the whole world. For all of us. We’re counting on you!

When you need a reminder of just how special you are, come back to this page. Don’t ever put yourself down again. Don’t ever see yourself as anything less than the miracle that you are.

Who are the greatest miracles in your life? Pass this on to them. And make their day – tell them how special they are to you.

Our quote today is by an unknown author.

“Instead of thinking about what you’re missing,
try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.”

You are the greatest miracle in the world! Change the world by showing your unique self.

Next time, we’ll talk about when to say, “No, thanks … return to sender!”

Until then, here’s to your bigg success!

Review: The Greatest Miracle In The World

By Bigg Success Staff

Book Review

The Greatest Miracle in The World book cover

The Greatest Miracle In The World

Og Mandino is one of our favorite authors here at Bigg Success. He’s most known for his best selling book, The Greatest Salesman in the World*, where he tells the story of poor boy named Hafid sells his way to a life of great riches.

However, our favorite Og’s book is The Greatest Miracle in the World*. When you need a boost, this book will serve you well.

Og remains true to his great story-telling form in this book. He combines his real life world as editor of Success magazine with a fictional character, Simon. Simon is a sage old gent, who keeps an apartment near Og’s office.

The book describes a series of conversations at Simon’s apartment between these two men. Here’s a sneak peak inside the book at an early conversation between Og and Simon.

The Ragpicker
“’What do you do, Simon? Do you have a job?’

The old man hesitated for a several moments. Then he smiled again, spread his hands in a self-effacing gesture and said, ‘I am a ragpicker, Mister Og.’

Simon reached across, placed his hand on my shoulder and squeezed it gently. ‘By definition, Mister Og, a ragpicker is one who picks up rags and other waste materials from the streets and junk heaps to earn a livelihood. I would imagine that sort of ragpicker has almost disappeared from the American scene during these years of nearly full employment, but we could see them again if conditions change.’

‘I doubt it. Our crime rate seems to be telling us that we’ve discovered faster and easier ways of laying our hands on a buck – like mugging, armed robbery, and burglary.’

‘I’m afraid that what you say is true, Mister Og. Still, in this day of soaring prices for paper and metals, I would imagine that a ragpicker or junk man could do quite well for himself. However, I am not that sort of ragpicker. I seek more valuable materials than old newspapers and aluminum beer cans. I search out waste materials of the human kind, people who have been discarded by others, or even themselves, people who still have great potential but have lost their self-esteem and their desire for a better life. When I find them I try to change their lives for the better, give them a new sense of hope and direction, and help them return from their living death … which to me is the greatest miracle in the world.’”

4 rules to make your life a miracle
The book leads up to a final message from Simon. In his last words to Og, he outlines four rules to make your life a miracle.

    • Count your blessings.

You possess every skill, every talent, and every requirement to do great things with your life. Be thankful for it.

    • Proclaim your rarity.

In the history of the world, there has never been anyone just like you. There never will be. What is such a treasure worth? You are priceless! Don’t devalue yourself.

    • Go another mile.

Excellence is what is required from someone as rare as you. Mediocrity will not suffice. Give more than is expected of you.

    • Use wisely your power of choice.

Note the word “power” – there is power in our choices. Power for good or evil. Power to grow. Power to wither. Power to create or destroy. Will you choose to make your life a miracle?

One final note – this book does have religious connotations. If that’s going to offend you, you’ll miss out on a great book, we say somewhat tongue-in-cheek. Seriously, though, there are great lessons in this book no matter what your religious beliefs are, or even if you just don’t buy into religion at all.
