Why Albert Einstein Believed in Santa Claus

Why imaginiation is key to your BIGG SuccessWarning – this post is not for young kids.

Not because we’re going to use four-letter words.
Not because we’re going to describe any gruesome event in graphic detail.

There’s another reason today’s show isn’t for the ears of kids.

We’re going to talk about Santa Claus.
So this is for adults only.

Kids have an advantage. They still believe in Santa Claus.

As we get older, and presumably wiser, we come to realize that Santa is a myth.

Jolly Old St. Nick is just a fable, weaved by parents for generations.

Santa is just a fictional character. Part of the land of make believe. A fairy tale. A figment of our imagination.

Imagination. Kids have it in abundance.

But then we mature. We become practical. We need proof. Logic prevails.

But Albert Einstein knew better. The man we associate with genius had this to say about imagination:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

We simply can’t explain everything.
There isn’t a rational reasoning for everything.
To think you can is to miss part of the joy of living.
The unknown.
Embracing the things we can’t explain.
Accepting the miracles in everyday life.

Because Albert Einstein also said:

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is.”

Albert Einstein believed in miracles. Albert Einstein believed in Santa Claus.

And Santa Claus knows about miracles.

The miracle of jolliness

You can be miserable. Or you can be jolly. Either way, you’ll get more of the same.

Misery loves company. Santa knows that jolliness does too. It’s your choice.

The miracle of giving

Do you ever hear about Santa receiving? No, we hear about him giving. What does Santa know?

He knows that giving leads to miracles – from physical health to emotional well-being and more.

The miracle of Christmas

We won’t get into the original story of Christmas here. We’re talking about the miracle that Santa sees in people’s hearts this time of year.

People are friendlier. They show that they care more.

Imagine the miracles that would happen if we kept this spirit alive year round!

The miracle of you

You are the greatest miracle in the world. You may not feel like it some days. But you are.

You are here to do something special. It may be for one other person. It may be for the whole world.

By believing in Santa Claus, you open the door to new possibilities. Possibilities that only you can imagine. Possibilities that only you can achieve. Possibilities that lead to BIGG success!

What miracles do you see?

A Visit with Santa

santa-claus We had a very special guest on The Bigg Success Show today. Straight from the reindeer farm at the North Pole, we welcomed Santa Claus! Here’s a summary of the conversation:

___

___

marylynn
Welcome to The Bigg Success Show, Santa.

___

___

santa_tiny
Oh, thank you Mary-Lynn. It’s always a pleasure visiting with you.

___

___

george
We’re so happy that you make time for us. We’re amazed at that actually.

___

___

santa_tiny
Well I try to make time for all my favorite fans.

___

___

marylynn
Are you on schedule? Is everything going according to plan?

___

___

santa_tiny
We are right on schedule. We will be ready on the 24th.

___

___

george
Alright, that’s what we wanted to hear. All the boys and girls will be very happy.

___

___

marylynn
How do you stay awake all night?

___

___

santa_tinyWell, Mrs. Claus would tell you it’s all the coffee. However, there are a few chocolates that kind of keep me buzzed up too … especially dark chocolate!

___

___

georgeSo chocolate is the key! We have that straight from Santa’s mouth. Now, Santa … do you ever confuse the reindeer droppings for chocolate?

___

___

santa_tiny
Not yet … it hasn’t happened in hundreds of years. Ho! Ho! Ho!

___

___

marylynn
And Santa, how do you avoid getting a cold at this time of year?

___

___

santa_tiny
Lots of Vitamin C – a glass of juice every morning.

___

marylynn
Yeah, because you can’t be drowsy from Sudafed when you’re out delivering toys!

___

___

santa_tinyNo, I have one elf who is responsible for squeezing all my fruit drinks – lemonade and orange juice – every morning.

___

___

marylynn
That sounds like maid service.

___

___

santa_tiny
Well you don’t need to tell him that. Ho! Ho! Ho!

___

___

george
So that elf really can make lemonade out of lemons!

___

___

santa_tiny
Oh absolutely, and there have been plenty of those this year.

___

___

georgeLast year, you taught us how to be jolly and I have to tell you it really has come in handy in 2008.

___

___

santa_tinyOh, I’m glad to hear that. Finding ways to stay jolly is an excellent thing to do in these times.

___

___

marylynnWell, what is your message to people this year – who are going through tough times, who are finding it hard to stay jolly?

___

___

santa_tinyThat’s a difficult thing. There are financial problems; the entire world is suffering really. But if you keep in mind the simple things, the things that matter the most – your family and friends – that will help get you through.

___

___

marylynn
I can’t think of any better advice than that.

___

___

georgeNow Santa, we always hear about Rudolph’s red nose, but I notice that your nose is often red too.

___

___

santa_tiny
Oh yes … it’s frequently very cold outside.

___

___

george
So that’s the reason?

___

___

santa_tiny
Of course, are you insinuating something?

___

___

george
Santa, I would insinuate nothing with you! That wouldn’t be nice!

___

___

santa_tiny
Ho! Ho! Ho!

___

___

marylynnOf course, if you need a little jolt on Christmas Eve, you can stop by the Bigg Success Studio. We’ll leave something special out for you!

___

___

santa_tiny
I will certainly make an effort to stop by there!

___

___

marylynnSanta, thank you so much for joining us on The Bigg Success Show. We know how busy you are and how crazy things are this time of year. But boy, it makes us jolly just to be able to talk with you!

___

___

santa_tiny
It’s always a pleasure, Mary-Lynn and George … always a pleasure.

___

___

george
Well, we’ll look forward to seeing you on Christmas Eve!

___

___

santa_tiny
I will see you even if you don’t see me!

___

___

marylynn
We’ll be tracking you on the Santa radar!

___

___

santa_tiny
Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!

Santa Shares Some Jolly Good Tips

Today we have a very special guest at Bigg Success…Santa Claus! Tis the season for stress and the winter blues, and we thought we’d find out from the man, who is the busiest of all of us this time of year, how he keeps a smile on his face.

We can’t really do this justice in type. We highly recommend you click on the play button above (just click the arrow), or, if you are viewing this in a reader, just click the mp3 button. You’ll definitely get a good laugh, which is just one of Santa’s secrets.

Here’s what else Santa told us:

  • You can be happy without being jolly, but you can’t be jolly without being happy
  • Happiness is a mindset. If you are happy, you become jolly. Happiness comes from the inside, and jolliness is what everyone sees on the outside as a result of your happiness.

So, you’re jolly on the outside because you are happy on the inside.

  • Laughter is the best medicine
  • If you are having a less-than-jolly start to your day, think about something that makes you laugh, which leads to bigger and bigger laughs, and eventually a big belly laugh! Now you are jolly again.

  • Work up a big Santa belly laugh
  • Studies have shown that belly laughs actually improve your health!

Here’s how Santa does it. Take a big, deep breath. Really fill up your lungs with lots of air. As you exhale, push all that air out with a big Ho-Ho-Ho! Now you are smiling, and those around you are too!

  • Santa’s secret to happiness
  • If you don’t feel jolly, then act jolly. Put motion to your emotions. Think happy thoughts, smile and laugh, and soon you’ll be jolly!

Our quote today is by author and scholar, Carolyn Birmingham.

“A smile starts on the lips, a grin spreads to the eyes, a chuckle comes from the belly; but a good laugh bursts forth from the soul, overflows, and bubbles all around.”

Again, we encourage you to listen to today’s Bigg Success Show, where you are sure to work up a bigg (with two g’s) belly laugh!

Next time, we’ll talk about Santa’s helpers. One man’s legacy of giving and how it’s being carried on. Until then, here’s to your bigg success!
